An HP initiative to direct print buyers toward digital printers is set to roll out in the Asia Pacific market, including Australia and New Zealand.

The vendor has already rolled out its PSP Network service in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) market.

The online portal allows print buyers to find local digital printers that operate HP equipment for applications such as business cards, photobooks, POS and POP, exhibition signage, vehicle graphics, billboards, labels and flexible packaging.

It is currently searchable by country and print application, with further search fields for city and postcode available to help users find their local option.

"Digital printing offers great benefits to end users," said HP EMEA graphic solutions business marketing director Francois Martin. "The challenge is that print buyers often don't know where to find digital print service providers."

Shane Lucas (pictured), HP's director of graphic arts South Pacific, told ProPrint that the vendor is "currently working on the implementation plans".

"Asia Pacific and Japan are taking the same direction and strategy as with Europe," Lucas said. "We are also encouraging our advertising and marketing agencies and enterprise marketers to leverage the benefits of digital printing."
