CMYKhub hopes next-day despatch will give customers meatier margins

CMYKhub hopes its trade customers will be able to charge more for fast-turnaround jobs after announcing next-day despatch.

The nationwide trade printer said a major reason it has unveiled the new service is in a response to price pressure across the industry.

"We have moved to meet the market on price as we need to support our clients but after taking time to look at how we can add greater value, it became clear to us that very fast delivery would assist our customers to attract a price premium."

The group will now promise next-day despatch on key items, such as a range of business cards and 150gsm gloss flyers from A6 to A3 size.

CMYKhub founder Clive Denholm said his company was not charging extra and hoped to bolster printers' bottom lines.

"Normally when people want printing quickly, price is less important. While we are not charging a premium to our customers for this service, we believe they will not have to discount as much or will be able to charge just a little more - if they are quoting the work to be supplied quicker than another supplier," said Denholm.

He explained that the service was a "natural progression" thanks to CMYKhub's fleet of presses across the country, including the UV Ryobi machine at its Brisbane hub, which offers instant drying on uncoated paper.

Denholm pointed out that delivery times would vary depending on location. "Next-day despatch in some cases doesn’t mean next-day delivery. Some country areas including Northern Territory can take a few days for delivery, while most metro customers will get the goods the following day."

CMYKhub has production sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
