Graph Pak will take on Bermuda's staff and product portfolio, which includes printing blankets, plates, inks, tapes, pressroom chemistry and other consumables. The deal will take effect next Monday (2 August).
Bermuda will also move into Graph Pak's headquarters in the suburb of Kurnell, and owner Bruce Mackintosh will join Graph Pak as a sales director.
Graph Pak managing director Tom Ralph (pictured) added that no jobs would be lost at either company as a result of the acquisition, as there is little doubling up in the companies' product ranges.
"Everybody stays, nothing nasty happens," Ralph said.
"Graph-Pak will complement Bermuda and Bermuda will complement Graph-Pak."
The supplier plans to take Bermuda's product range national; the company has concentrated on the Sydney market for 27 years.
Graph Pak also announced an alliance to use JTS Graphics' engineering resources across Australia.
"That gives us nine printing specialist electricians. A lot of them have a background working with Goss web and Heidelberg," Ralph said.
Ralph said both deals were underway before this month's blaze at Graph Pak Packaging Supplies, a joint venture with cartonboard converter Dimension 1.
"All of this was already happening, so we couldn't stop it. But we didn't want to stop it either," Ralph said.
The company is currently waiting on an insurance pay-out for the fire, which was estimated to have destroyed over $800,000 of stock.
