The company achieved certification last month after enacting a series of measures including labelling storm water drains, installing a kit for dealing with spills, and developing a company policy for ensuring environmentally friendly practices.
Printing Industries' Green Stamp co-ordinator Eunice Zisani told ProPrint that the Joondalup printer breezed through the certification.
"A lot of the things they were already doing," she said. "Plus they were very committed to the course. That's what made it so easy."
The company already had an appropriate recycling system in place, which helped expedite the process of certification to a matter of weeks.
According to Signarama Joondalup: "The Green Stamp demonstrates our commitment to managing environmental matters as an integral part of our business planning and decisions. This extends to our production facility, our surrounding environment and our ability to contribute to the greater environment in which our products and operations extend."
Green Stamp Certification pre-dates Printing Industries' Sustainable Green Print course, and is a joint initiative with the Western Australian government. It does not have the ISO framework of the SGP initiative.
Printing Industries Western Australian general manager Paul Nieuwhof said the association is hoping to attract more signage companies to the Green Stamp course.
