Fine art printing company Brilliant Prints has developed an iPhone application that gives professional photographers instant quotes for custom printing on canvas.

Managing director and founder Liam Tovey said development of the app was aimed at "speeding up and simplifying the process of ordering premium custom prints"

"The margin on canvas printing is very good for professional photographers but with many other companies it comes with real headaches and risks," he said.

"This will allow professional photographers to up-sell to their clients knowing that they are recommending high-quality products that will be delivered fast and have a watertight satisfaction guarantee," he added.

Brilliant Prints, which is headquartered in the Brisbane suburb of Richlands, has also launched a website dedicated to professional photographers at www.bpro.com.au.

The printer currently supplies around 1,000 professional photographers in Australia, as well as servicing commercial clients such as Coca Cola and the CSIRO.

The company also produces printed tiles, posters and Artblocs.
