German digital manufacturer Atlantic Zeiser will use Ipex to bring together its industrial printing modules in a new range of integrated machines.

The manufacturer, which has traditionally been strong in printing modules incorporated into other production lines, is focusing on standalone kit with the DigiLine family of commercial inkjet machines.

Chief executive Oliver Mehler said that, while in the past such machines had largely been bespoke, the products had now been standardised into the DigiLine family.

The range comes in three types: the 'Web' range, the 'Sheet' range and the DigiLine 'Single Product' range.

Mehler told the Duomedia pre-Ipex event in Brussels that Atlantic Zeiser would use Ipex to showcase "Industrial Digital Printing 2.0".

"At Ipex, we will show 11 world premieres - something we have never done in the past," said Mehler.

"This comprises five new high-resolution inkjet printing engines, numerous UV LED curing modules, new UV- and water-based inks, and a new Atlantic Zeiser 'MiniController'," he added.

The vendor also revealed the latest developments in its inline modular print engines.

Atlantic Zeiser explained how its inline inkjet components could be used for such applications as printing on aluminium for customised blister packs for pharmaceutical work, yielding a faster return on investment than flexo.

It also claimed its kit could replace toner-based technology for "direct product" printing for a broad range of packaging applications.

The Omega range will be available in eight different models, offering single-pass spot-UV with resolutions up to 720dpi. The latest model is the Omega 70P, which prints a high-pigment white ink.

The Gamaa module prints four colours plus white at up to 1,060dpi, and now comes in 140mm width.

Atlantic Zeiser claimed its Delta family "sets a new industry benchmark". It prints spot colours in UV and water-based inks at 600dpi at speeds of up to 300 metres per minute.

In Hall 6, Stand C557 , Atlantic Zeiser will show its new DigiLine Web 280 with Delta (UV model) and the DigiLine Sheet 380 with Delta (water-based).

Steven Kiernan is in Brussels.
