VDP and workflow automation software developer Objectif Lune will expand its offering to the Australian market with its acquisition of Dutch document management vendor Edmond Document Solutions.

Objectif Lune Asia managing director Stuart Drysdale (pictured) told ProPrint that the deal will "reinforce Objectif's presence in the high volume document workflow automation sector", while Edmond will "benefit from Objectif Lune's worldwide presence and recognition".

"While both companies had similar offering in output management, document recomposition and workflow automation, they were addressing a different clientele which varied mostly by its document volume and throughput requirements," Drysdale said. "The benefit in Australia is that Objectif Lune Asia is looking to meet the local market needs."

"In the longer term, we are expecting significant and faster gain and agility due to cross-pollination of technology and expertise. The cooperation of both companies' R&D teams will result in faster releases of applications for each product," he added.

As part of the deal, both companies will retain their respective names, facilities and staff.

"This is great news for our customers and partners," said Edmond Document Solutions owner Paul Bogers.
