Ferrostaal Australia has been appointed as a distributor of Fujifilm Australia's range of plates, consumables and CTP equipment.

Juergen Krufczyk, Fujifilm Australia general manager of graphic systems, told ProPrint that the move is "aimed at providing an extension of Fujifilm's existing market coverage".

Krufczyk said that current Fujifilm prepress customers will not be affected by the deal, as "Ferrostaal will be sourcing additional market segments".

"Fujifilm's directs sales strategy will also continue to accommodate all market segments," he added.

The news follows on from last week's announcement that Ferrostaal will take over the Australian and New Zealand distribution contracts for Komori presses and Wohlenberg finishing equipment from CPI.
