Paper giant UPM will supply 9 million sheets of copy paper to the United Nations' Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen next week.

According to UPM, its Future grade offering has been selected because of its environmental features, which include sustainable sourcing of wood raw material and the EU Eco-label.

Philippe Riebel, vice president of environmental affairs at UPM, said: "We are well positioned with regards to the EU's ambitious target of having 20% of all energy derived from renewable sources by 2020."

"Today, 60% of UPM's energy consumption is produced using renewable fuels and 70% of the group's own electricity production is CO2 emission free."

UPM will provide the paper in cooperation with office supplies company Lyreco.
