Ricoh has teamed up with EFI to bring a suite of software solutions that integrates all print room functions to the Australian market.

Kathy Wilson (pictured, right), general manager of Production and Business Solutions at Ricoh Australia, said, "We have benefited greatly from a strategic partnership between Ricoh's global headquarters in Japan and EFI. Now we are going to take the next step in Australia to provide a seamless range of solutions that incorporate web-to-print, production workflow, and print management information systems."

As part of this arrangement, Ricoh intends to offer EFI's PrintSmith printroom workflow solution.

"We have worked long and hard to address the need in the production market for a 'total solution' to print room management. Now we have it," Wilson said.

"The addition of EFI PrintSmith to our line-up will be very exciting. PrintSmith automates the entire business process, from estimating to invoicing and reporting - for small commercial print shops, print-for-pay companies and in-plant departments with on-demand and digital environments.

"Our existing line-up answers the demand for job submission, creation productivity and workflow solutions. Now with PrintSmith MIS, the workflow can be fully integrated, resulting in a more efficient and harder working environment."

"We have been working with EFI to offer Australia the strongest solutions range that incorporates a seamless environment within the print room. Through this partnership, customers can be assured of receiving the latest and greatest production solutions."

Marc Olin (pictured, centre), EFI's senior vice-president/GM of Advanced Professional Print Systems, said, "EFI is very excited about the opportunity with Ricoh in Australia. They will be the first partner of ours to offer a completely integrated end-to-end solution including Web2Print, MIS and workflow, all from EFI. These tools, combined together with our award winning Fiery technology in front of the Ricoh devices, will provide a very compelling solution to print providers."
