Blue Star Print Group has been appointed to handle “all of the print communication requirements” for accounting giant CPA Australia.

THE HON

As part of the end-to-end deal, Blue Star will manage CPA's print, direct mail and logistics - including the production and nationwide distribution of marketing, training and exam requirements - as well as their company magazine, InTheBlack.

The contract will be managed by the company's specialist print management division, Blue Star IQ.

"We are delighted to expand on the excellent relationship we have had with CPA Australia for a number of years to now encompass a full end-to-end solution," said Blue Star IQ executive general manager Matt Aitken. "There is an excellent fit between the requirements of CPA Australia's business and the diverse core capabilities of Blue Star."

"Blue Star's integrated offer not only meets our requirements today but will provide a platform for the future as our organisation grows and evolves to meet the requirements of our members," said CPA's procurement and services manager, Renae Gasmier. "Its ability to demonstrate expertise and a strong track record across the full range of services we require was key to our decision to appoint Blue Star as our print manager."

Can I ask when was a "SPONSORSHIP" deal a "win"? http://www.arawards.com.au/index.php/eng/Sponsors Blue Star SPONSOR these awards and then claim it as a "Contract win". Can we get some more detail on this "win" ? As an industry we should be looking at increasing profits, not giving our hard work away.

In reference to the two comments above. Response to Comment 1. Dear I B Broke, Can you please pay the courtesy to actually read the article above as it succinctly explains exactly what the win was – refer to Paragraphs 1 and 2. The article presented has no correlation whatsoever with the sponsorship arrangement. The link you provided is connected to the Australasian Reporting Awards. Please refer to http://www.arawards.com.au/index.php/eng/About-the-ARA for an overview of what this organisation is and the objectives of The Awards. Blue Stars sponsor partnership (along with several other leading companies) demonstrates a commitment by all of the sponsoring organisations to provide something back into the industry. An industry that actually generates the work that all printers are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to provide. Without the ‘Industry’ there is no work and therefore no profit. Response to Comment 2. Dear anyone who will hear me, Blue Star does not do ‘anything’ for publicity. Like all leading companies it considers closely the companies that approach them (that’s correct – companies that approach them) to partner with and support. In terms of ‘what their current position is’ – just to put it all in perspective - perhaps it would be wise to take a detailed look at their current position compared to others within the same industry.

Hey Oracle, first half results of NZ$3.23m on sales of NZ$305m is abysmal - if the whole industry is operating at 1% Gross we're all done for. And your claim that Bluestar sponsors anything just so it can put back into the industry is just as laughable. Public companies and publicly funded non for profits have to produce annual reports regardless of the ARA - its the law. I'd say there is a big slice of Quid Pro Quo in any arrangement they have with the ARA. I look forward to hearing any other insights you may have. Inky
