The Graphic Arts Services Association of Australia (GASAA) will present two free seminars this month on its Environment Management Course, designed to guide businesses to GASAA's Truly Green Certification, ISO 14001 and FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certification.

The presentations will be held in Melbourne on February 17 and Sydney on February 19, with Paul Kohn, AKP Leura and ISO consultant, presenting.

Kohn will outline the key requirements for both ISO 14001 and FSC CoC certification, and attendees will also hear about the course's first graduates and their experiences in preparing their firms for ISO and FSC certification. Course facilitator Garry Knespal will also be present to answer any questions.

GASAA will also present free digital asset management and copyright information seminars in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Sponsored by DataBasics and GASAA, these evening presentations will focus on digital asset management, copyright and licensing in the printing industry. Canto and DataBasics will launch Cumulus 8 for Australia at these events, with a presentation by Cumulus developer and Canto chief executive Ulrich Knocke.

Zoe Rodriguez, a copyright expert from CAL, will provide advice on how to protect intellectual property and how to maximise return on investment in digital assets.

GASAA advises that these events are intended for creative people and those who purchase assets for reproduction. The events will be held on March 31 in Sydney and April 1 in Melbourne. More information can be obtained from the event website.

Also in association with GASAA, the PODi AppForum 09 is now calling for speakers.

This event is returning to Sydney in September 2009. Modelled on the successful PODi Application Forums in the USA, the conference, workshops and expo will present the latest information on the digital print market. A senior representative of PODi USA has been invited to accompany local presenters.

Those wanting further information are advised to visit the PODi website.
