On July 22, the GEON Group opened a new, state-of-the-art digital printing operation, located in Melbourne CBD's booming Docklands region.

The site will allow people to simply 'walk in off the street' for a full range of printing services. It will serve as a central hub, giving GEON clients access to its entire tran-Tasman range of services from a single location.

"Our motives for creating this facility were initially driven by our desire to provide the best possible service to some of our largest clients with Melbourne based operations, while at the same time taking advantage of the fact that Melbourne is a flourishing hotspot for business," explained Graham Morgan (pictured), Chief Executive Officer, GEON Group.

Morgan added, "Digital is a firm part of our development strategy. We already offer digital services from other sites within business hotspots in Queensland and NSW. This initiative, including the break from tradition with the 'shop front' model, aligns perfectly with that strategy, while helping us to realise our overall goal of becoming the single source provider of choice for printing and finishing needs."

The functionality of the new GEON site will be served by some of the world's most advanced printing technology, including: Indigo 5500; Xerox 8000, designed for short run, high quality colour, ideal for marketing and DM campaigns; and Xerox 288, the market's fastest black and white document printer

The facility boasts a complete range of market-leading binding and finishing equipment, as well as the innovative Anapurna XL2 wide-format,-full colour, digital hybrid printer; one of only two in Australia:

The Anapurna XL2, printing on a wide range of substrates, opens the door to opportunities such as displays, signage, conferences and exhibitions, events, retail POP/POS, visual merchandising, design and advertising.
